Wiring & Installation- PDU1 / APC Symmetra

Verify that all incoming line voltage (utility power) and low voltage (control) circuits are de-energized, and locked out before installing cables or making connections, weather in the junction box or to the UPS unit.

Always verify that all battery modules are removed and all battery extension frames are disconnected from the UPS unit before installing any wiring.
   
Wiring Procedure

Refer to figure 1-1. Remove the four screws holding the output wiring entry panels to the rear of the UPS unit. Remove only the screws indicated in the illustration. Set the screws and panel aside temporarily.
 

2. Using the appropriate tools, remove the locknut from the PDU’s connector; knock out the KO on the entry panel. Feed the wires through the entry panel and attach the flexible cord connector to the panel using the locknut. Strip ½" of insulation from each of the PDU’s wires and attach them to the corresponding output terminals on the output wiring block. Make sure there are no loose strands and that the terminal block connection screws are sufficiently tight. Reattach the entry panel

3. Turn on the PDU’s main disconnect and all other switchable circuit breakers. Follow UPS manufacturers start up procedure.
